Historically held in April, the 2015 SFIA Litigation & Risk Management Summit is moving to Feb. 2-3, 2015 at the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Hotel, prior to the start of the DRI Product Liability Conference. The event, hosted by the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA), allows attendees to stay abreast on the latest legal developments affecting the sports and fitness industry while also becoming aware of future challenges.
“The new date allows us to continue to host the Litigation & Risk Management Summit in conjunction with DRI’s event,” said Legal Task Force Chairman Mark Granger (Principal, Granger Legal Consulting). “Based on the feedback of our past participants, the ability to attend two conferences while only travelling once is invaluable.”
Lawyers, in-house counsel, risk managers, import/export personnel, regulatory compliance personnel, and chemical content compliance staff from across the sports and fitness industry will convene for the annual event to gain guidance and learn of ways to navigate through the changing landscape of legal risk and regulatory threats while earning Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Credits.
New to the 2015 event will be the debut of the SFIA Future Litigations & Risk Management Leaders Scholar Program. This professional development program is designed to provide mentorship, education and networking opportunities to future litigation leaders in the industry through complimentary registration to the Summit.
“We’re excited to launch a future leaders program for legal and risk professionals,” said Granger. “It’s in the SFIA mission to foster industry vitality, and this program does just that.”
The agenda for the 2015 Summit includes topics such as Helmets and Traumatic Brain Injuries, Intellectual Property and Patents, and Current Expectations and Trends Related to CPSC Recalls. Early bird registration will close on January 5, 2015 and space is currently limited.
