US-based Green Flash Brewing has acquired Alpine Beer, in a move to ramp up its capacity to produce beers.
An agreement to this effect was signed by both the companies.
As per the agreed terms, Green Flash will begin bottling Alpine beers in 2015. However, the companies will continue to operate independently.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Alpine Beer currently employees 20 people, while Green Flash has 107 employees.
Earlier in October, Green Flash Brewing broke ground on its new brewing facility in the city of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
To be spread over an area of around 58,000ft2, the proposed production site, including brewery, tasting room and beer garden, represents an investment of around $20m.
Construction of the facility is scheduled for completion in 2016.
When operational, the brewery will have the capability of producing 100,000 barrels of beer annually and will employ 40 people.
The fermentation tanks will be delivered in three phases for the brewery, which will produce over 45% of the company's beer.
