International Paper Awards Maintenance Services Contract to KBR

US-based KBR has been awarded contract to provide maintenance, planning and industrial services for renewable packaging and paper products producer International Paper (IP).

Under the four-year contract, KBR will be responsible for providing industrial maintenance services of nearly 700,000 labor hours at IP's offices in Svetogorsk, Russia.

KBR Europe, Middle East and Africa president Jay Ibrahim said: "KBR was awarded this contract based on its successful track record for reliable excellence in delivery over the past ten years for IP.

"KBR has consistently provided high quality work on a full range of total maintenance services, increasing production and reliability of the Svetogorsk mill.

“KBR is proud to continue delivering world class industrial services essential to the long-term success of the Svetogorsk mill and for the benefit of our clients.”

KBR expects to generate over $40m in revenue from this contract.

In 2013, International Paper awarded a contract to KBR to provide total maintenance services and increase production and reliability of the Svetogorsk paper mills.

The site features three pulp mills, two papermaking machines, and the A3 and A4 cut-size finishing.

Products manufactured at the mill include duplex paperboard substrate to package liquid products, coated paperboard, coated paperboard substrate, Kraftliner paperboard, printing paper in rolls for office use, cut-size printing paper for office use, offset paper among others.
