The Nissan Friend-ME concept has been teased ahead of its world premiere at this month's Shanghai auto show.
Hailed as Nissan's first concept car with key input from Chinese designers, the Nissan Friend-ME was designed and developed with involvement from the Beijing-based team at Nissan Design China.
The sleek four-door Nissan Friend-ME features sharply angled LED headlights and tail-lights with an illuminated front grille and badge. The interior is said to be highlighted by a unique centre console that allows for "Four Seats, One Mind Connectivity" that Nissan says permits "equal information sharing among all aboard".
Targeting China's young and "vibrant" generation, the Friend-ME will help the Japanese manufacturer mark 10 and 20 years in China through its Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV) and Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Co., Ltd. (ZNA) derivatives respectively.
Nissan's Shanghai stand will also display the Nissan GT-R, Murano, Quest people mover and the soon-to-be-launched locally?Nissan Altima?sedan – called the Teana in some markets – as well as introduce Asia to Nissan's new global motor show exhibit space, first seen at this year's Detroit auto show, featuring a new green tea-inspired "Nissan fragrance".
The 2013 Shanghai auto show starts on April 20.
