Recalled in Scotland Over Food Safety Concerns by Fresh Fish Balls

Fu Zhou Chan Kee Traditional Fresh Fish Balls have been withdrawn from sale in Scotland as they have been produced in unapproved premises under unsatisfactory hygiene conditions, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

Although the product has been labelled as fresh fish balls, it might have been supplied frozen. It also contains minced pork meat and the following additional allergens: egg white, soya and sesame.

The product being recalled is Fu Zhou Chan Kee Traditional Fresh Fish Balls, 450g, belonging to all date and batch codes.

FSA noted that it has not been possible to retrieve the distribution details or product traceability records for this product. However, distribution is believed to have occurred within the Lothian area of Scotland.

Consumers who have purchased the product have been urged not to eat it.
