International Food Products Selected EPIC Systems to Develop Process and Packaging Line

International Food Products has selected EPIC Systems to develop the process and packaging lines for its new $20m greenfield facility in St Louis, Missouri, US.

The new plant, which will be leased from Panattoni Development, combines a distribution center with manufacturing operations for International Food Products.

As part of the project, a joint venture between Prudential and Panattoni, EPIC will design, build and integrate the process and packaging lines for the 227,500ft2 industrial plant. It will also design and install complete manufacturing process.

EPIC project manager John Stork said the automated batching/blending systems will increase line capacities on both the company's liquid and dry packaging lines.

"Having all of the construction and testing of the liquids operations completed off-site will ensure the process is ready when the civil site is finished," Stork added.

A detailed project schedule, combined with the modular fabrication approach, is expected to provide cost savings and minimize risk on the process and packaging plant.

Scope of the project includes product sanitary blending skids, batch mixing systems, and liquid and powder packaging lines. Out of the six semi-automated packaging lines four will be new, one relocated, and the other retrofitted.

The plant is scheduled to be completely operational by early spring 2014.
