Guardian to Build New Float and Coated Glass Facility in Poland

Guardian Industries is investing in a new float and coated glass manufacturing facility in Czestochowa, Poland.

The new plant will meet the increasing demand for float, coated and fabricated glass products across Europe.

Located next to the firm’s existing facility, the new plant is expected to become operational in the third quarter of 2019.

The new manufacturing plant, which will create around 150 new jobs, can produce 1,000 metric tons of glass per day. It will feature a technologically advanced glass coater.

Guardian is also planning to repair the existing float line in Czestochowa at the beginning of 2018 to increase its production capacity.

Apart from Czestochowa plant, Guardian Glass has facilities in Oroshaza of Hungary, Thalheim of Germany, as well as Ryazan and Rostov of Russia.

Guardian Glass president and CEO Kevin Baird said: “The new facility will be the biggest green field capital investment in Guardian Glass’ history and will further position us as a leading producer of high performance, safety and energy-efficient glass products for European residential and commercial buildings.

Guardian Glass Europe vice president Guus Boekhoudt said: “The colocation of the two plants will create a competitive and efficient structure to deliver a wide range of glass products and will contribute to generate long-term value for our customers in the region.”

Guardian Glass, which is a business unit of Guardian Industries, manufactures float, coated and fabricated glass products.

The firm’s glass products can be used in exterior and interior architectural applications, in addition to transportation and technical products.
