US-based medical device company Sotera Wireless has announced that it is showcasing its new wireless patient monitoring solution at Intermountain Healthcare's HIMSS 2013 annual conference and exhibition.
The FDA-approved ViSi Mobile solution, which continuously monitors heart rate or pulse rate, electrocardiogram (ECG), blood pressure, blood oxygenation level, respiration rate and skin temperature, wirelessly transmits patient vital sign information for remote viewing and notification, as well as to interface with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Intermountain chief technology officer Frederick Holston said, "Our mission to transform healthcare continues to focus on improving quality and lowering costs."
In line with the initiative, Intermountain is currently piloting ViSi Mobile in two post-surgical care units at its Intermountain Medical Center in Murray and LDS Hospital, in Salt Lake City, Utah, US.

Intermountain said live presentations and demonstrations will be held from 4-6 March 2013.
