Emerging Professionals Will Network with Peers and Industry Professionals

Emerging professionals attending The International Surface Event (TISE), Jan. 20 to 23 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, will have the opportunity to network with peers and industry professionals at a happy hour event.

The emerging professionals initiative was introduced at this year's show to provide a forum for networking and idea exchange for flooring, stone and tile professionals under the age of 40.

The TISE 2015 advisory council, comprised of professionals representing every facet of the industry, met with show management to offer insight on industry trends, hot topics and provide feedback on timely content for the education program. Among the topics discussed was the need for more emerging professionals events at TISE, such as happy hours and luncheons.

“The emerging professionals initiative was one that the council participants recognized as an important trend in our industry,” said Dana Teague, vice president of Informa Exhibitions US, formerly Hanley Wood Exhibitions. “We are excited to provide a forum for emerging professionals to come together with industry experts and mentors.”

The emerging professionals happy hour will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Border Grill located in the Mandalay Bay. The event is complimentary for show attendees with a TISE 2015 badge. Space is limited therefore registrants are encouraged to RSVP at TISEwest.com or by calling 866.860.1975 to ensure admittance.

"The Emerging Professional events at TISE give me the opportunity to mingle with colleagues, meet other young professionals who work in similar markets and learn from industry veterans in a laid-back, fun setting," said Jacqueline Tabbah, assistant vice president of International Stoneworks.

Lew Migliore, president of LGM and Associates and mentor for the event added, “Mentoring young professionals is important to ensure the health, well-being and knowledge of the industry being passed on to the next generation. We need to take advantage of opportunities that promote this type of relationship building."
