A Third Version of Samsung Note 4 Could Soon Be Landing with Qualcomm's Most Powerful Chip

A third version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 could soon be landing with Qualcomm’s most powerful chip at its core.

The two current Galaxy Note 4 models make use of an Exynos 7 Octa processor and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor respectively.

The latest out of South Korea’s thriving anonymous tipster network is that a Snapdragon 810-fuelled Note 4 could be on its way.

In fact, the insiders reckon Samsung is already testing the new device for compatibility with South Korea’s major carriers.

The news comes courtesy of Sammobile, which suggests the carriers ‘might be’ LG, SKT, and Olleh.

The Snapdragon 810 is Qualcomm’s beefiest chipset yet, although it’s yet to appear on any handsets this year, instead expected to land in early 2015.

The 64-bit friendly chip touts eight cores running of ARM’s big.Little core configuration, with Adreno 430 graphics in tow.

It’s the second Samsung chip story of this week, after we also heard that Samsung might be looking to include a Cat. 10 LTE-enabled Exynos SoC in its upcoming Galaxy S6 handset.

This could theoretically provide download speeds up to 450Mbps, although such rapid data-chewing would require a very generous mobile carrier.
