In Korea, O-Xylene prices went up in the week ending February 16, 2013. Overall, market sentiment improved and downstream demand increased. In the initial days of the week, prices were assessed at US$ 1580/ton higher by US$ 10/ton, as compared to the same period of its previous week. Prices were steady during the week and were assessed at US$ 1580/ton FOB Korea.
In S.E. Asia, O-Xylene prices showed similar trend as Korea in reporting week. In the early days of the week, O-Xylene prices were at US$ 1615/ton higher by US$ 10/ton, as compared to the same period of its previous week. Prices remained stable during the week and were spotted at US$ 1615/ton CFR S.E. Asia.
CFR China prices were assessed unchanged at US$ 1600/ton.
In Europe, O-Xylene prices showed similar trend as Asia, due to strong demand from the downstream market. O-Xylene prices were assessed at US$ 1490/ton higher by US$ 10/ton, as compared to its previous week. Prices stayed stable at US$ 1490/ton FOB Rotterdam during the week.
In US, contract prices of O-Xylene for the month of February were settled at 71.50 (cents/lb) (US$ 1573/ton) FOB US, same as compared to the contract prices of January.
