Poland based West-East Meat Group has purchased the 8-colour EF 340 multi-substrate flexo press from MPS, a provider of flexo and offset press solutions for label and flexible packaging printers.
Established in 2010, West-East Meat offers services, including casings and sausage products, spices, functional and flavor additives, new and pre-owned meat-processing equipment, and label printing of the range of meat products, for food producers.
The purchase is a part of West-East Meat's plan to enter new markets with foil and shrink sleeves while taking advantage to invest in new flexo printing equipment.
West-East Meat owner Viktor Rozdobudko said: "We made the decision to purchase our first flexo press, as we see the technology as the stepping stone to enter new markets in Poland and Ukraine.
Built an automation package including job memory, the MPS EF multi-substrate Flexo press offers a either plate rolls or print sleeves options.
Rozdobudko added: "MPS was first on our short-list, due to their reputation as a high-end press manufacturer. We ultimately chose MPS because no other manufacturer could offer the same level of efficiency and technological advancements.
"The EF 340 also offers servo drives and control we desired for automation, and it is best-in-class for printing multiple substrates."
The UV and hot-air drying technology features of the press enables users to print on a variety of substrates including thin film, paper, cartonboard, shrink sleeves, inmould, lamitube and flexible packaging.
