Beijing V Emission Standard Autos Enter Market

Beijing V emission standard has been officially put on Jan. 1st and a large number of cars that comply with the standard enter Beijing market. Nevertheless, there was a shortage of China’s own brand.

Beijing V emission standard is equivalent to Euro V standards, integrated with the EU emission standards that currently run. After the implementation of Beijing V emission standard, oxide emissions of light-duty gasoline vehicles, heavy-duty diesel vehicles and motorcycles nitrogen will decline by about 40% compared with China IV standards.

From March 1, Beijing will stop selling and registration of light-duty gasoline vehicles that cannot meet the standard, but the second-hand car trading is not affected.

In recent days, Beijing was hit by fog and haze and the air quality did not reach the standard. Improving vehicle emission standards is significant to reduce the content of PM2.5 in the air.
