A total of 7.73GWp in PV power-generating and distributed systems was installed in China in first-half 2015, with cumulative capacity reaching 35.7GWp, according to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
China recorded first-half 2015 total production value of CNY200 billion (US$32.2 billion) and total export value of US$7.7 billion for polysilicon, solar wafers, cells and PV modules, MIIT said. For first-half 2015, the four largest polysilicon makers fully utilized their production capacities and the top-10 PV module makers posted average gross margin of over 15%, MIIT indicated.
China-based makers had set up total overseas annual production capacity of 800MWp for solar cells and 1.5GWp for PV modules as of the end of June 2015, MIIT said.
In first-half 2015, average cost for building PV power systems in China had declined below CNY8/W, and power- generating costs reached CNY0.6-0.9/kWh, MIIT indicated.
