Bioplastics supplier in Australia, Plantic Technologies is all set to supply new ‘Plantic eco Plastic’ trays to the Netherlands-based Profish Food, as part of an agreement.
Plantic eco Plastic has been designed to enhance the carbon footprint and energy requirements of fresh food packaging. Replacement of oil-based polymers with the tray will cut down carbon emissions.
Profish aims to provide its customers the combination of performance as well as environmental benefits, by using the new trays.
Plantic eco Plastic has been designed to meet the growing demand for a sustainable approach to plastics technology and uses up to 50% less energy.
The tray does not require investment in new processing or packaging technology, and is said to serve as a drop-in replacement for a range of traditional plastics used in high-barrier packaging.
Profish Food is a supplier of pre-packed fresh fish to the retail and wholesale trade in the Netherlands and beyond.
