Global steel giant ArcelorMittal has announced that it has supplied 6,000 mt of rebar that will be used in a bridge construction project in Venezuela. The 11 km-long bridge will connect the cities of Caicara de Orinoco and Cabruta, significantly improving transport between the states of Bolívar and Guárico.
The 6,000 mt rebar shipment made by ArcelorMittal at the end of December 2012 was received by Odebrecht Venezuela in the second week of January. The construction of the new bridge is estimated to be completed in 2015-2016.
According to ArcelorMittal's statement, the rebar to be used in the bridge construction was supplied by the company's Mexican steel plant, Las Truchas.
