AGC Automotive Americas’ Elizabethtown plant received the Governor’s Safety and Health Award for achieving 1.5 million work hours without incurring a lost time incident.
The Governor’s Safety and Health Award is given to employers and their associates who together achieve the required number of hours worked without a lost time injury or illness. The award was presented at AGC’s Elizabethtown plant by Mark S. Brown, Acting Secretary of the Kentucky Labor Cabinet.
“The success of the Elizabethtown facility depends upon the hard work and dedication of each and every associate within our facility”, states Scott Guenther, Plant Manager for the Elizabethtown location. “AGC takes the initiative to ensure that there is no production without the assurance of safety with the ultimate goal of eradicating all serious injuries or illnesses to its associates”, adds Guenther.
This is the second award for this location. In 2000, the AGC Elizabethtown plant received its first Governor’s Safety and Health Award for achieving over 1 million hours worked without a lost time injury. To date, the Elizabethtown plant has achieved 1.9 million work hours or 618 days without a lost time injury.
