Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Unveiled at MWC 2015 Offically

The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet has been officially unveiled at MWC 2015 despite the eagerly awaited Xperia Z4 handset having yet to enter the realms of reality.

The company’s latest 10.1-inch tablet challenger to the iPad Air 2 – and a direct follow-on to the Xperia Z2 Tablet – the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet pairs a stunning 2K display with improved battery life and an even slimmer, lighter form factor.

“We want to take the best of the Z2 tablet and further evolve it into an even stronger offering. What we’ve come up with is the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet,” Jun Makino, a Senior Product Marketing Manager said in unveiling the device.

“We have built around the Z2 Tablet but made it slimmer, lighter and added a brighter display. It is ideal for entertainment.”

He added: “There is a big need for portability and a very light weight tablet. That has been a key demand from many consumers.”

Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Features
Ensuring these consumer demands are met, the Xperia Z4 Tablet lines up at a mere 6.1mm thick and just 392g in weight, based on the Wi-Fi only model. Adding cellular connectivity to the mix does nothing to the tablet’s girth but adds 4g to the overall bulk.

Despite boasting such a compact form factor – slimmed further by a reduced boarder when compared with past models – the latest Sony tablet features a 10.1-inch display.

This Triluminos, X-Reality screen is easy on the eye, too, boasting a stunning 2560 x 1600 pixel 2K resolution and 300 pixels-per-inch image density.

What’s more, Sony has claimed this is the brightest 2K panel on any consumer-available slate – topping the brightness scale at over 500 candella.

Beyond the visuals and this is a true leader of the Android tablet race. Qualcomm’s latest 1.5GHz 64-bit, octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor runs the show alongside 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage – expandable via microSD.

This CPU should offer more than enough power for all your heavy-duty business and entertainment based needs.

The slate is designed for both user groups too, with an optional extra Bluetooth keyboard case transforming the Z4 Tablet into a business orientated Microsoft Surface Pro 3 rival of sorts.
