German carmaker Opel has unveiled the new Adam urban car prior to its debut at the upcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The new car will be initially offered with three gasoline powertrains which include a 1.2 litre 51kW/70hp , a 1.4 litre 64 kW/87hp and a 1.4 litrel 74kW/100hp and are mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
According to the carmaker, all the powertrains feature ecoFLEX technology pack comprising fuel-saving Start/Stop technology.
Later, Opel is planning to develop a new gasoline engine for ADAM, which will feature direct injection turbocharging to enhance efficiency and performance, and will be mated to a new six-speed manual transmission.
The electric power steering (EPS) equipped in the car comprises a CITY mode which will allow the car to increase power assistance at lower speeds mainly during maneuvering.
Feaures of the new car include advanced park assist (APA II) along with side blind spot alert (SBSA) which uses ultrasonic sensors and its dual seat belt pre-tensioners at the front seats will protect knee and leg.
Opel said that the new Adam will be launched in January 2013.
