Solar-grade crystalline silicon wafer maker Sino-American Silicon Products (SAS) has reported consolidated revenues of NT$2.309 billion (US$77 million) for August, hitting monthly record with on-month growth of 22.61% and on-year growth of 19.37%.
SAS will merge with its subsidiary Sunrise Global Solar Energy, a supplier of monocrystalline silicon solar cells, through a stock swap on January 1, 2014 and plans to hike Sunrise Global's annual production capacity from 350MWp currently to 700MWp in 2014, SAS indicated.
Sunrise Global has reached a maximum energy conversion rate of 20.6% and an average rate of 20.2% for its 6-inch P-type monocrystalline silicon solar cells, SAS said.
GlobalWafers, SAS' subsidiary which makes electronic-grade silicon wafers, will expand its production capacity in the US, Japan and China, SAS noted.
