According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in April this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 77.7 percent, stable compared to the previous month, while the April percentage was down 3.9 percentage points on year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile, in April of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 1.9 percentage points month on month to 71.8 percent, up from the 70.9 percent recorded in April 2012.
The capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 73.6 percent in April this year, indicating an increase of 0.9 percentage points compared to March and down from 74.7 percent in April 2012.
