The Systems Detect Contaminants in The Processing of Aluminum Packaging

S+S Separation and Sorting Technology has launched new product inspection systems of the Raycon range for the food and packaging industry.

The new systems are equipped with X-ray technology and can be adapted to application specific requirements and local site conditions, when combined with modular conveyors.

According to the German company, the systems detect contaminants in the processing of aluminum packaging or other metallic foils, and other product defects such as broken, deformed or missing products, clumps, air inclusions, as well as overweight and underweight.

S+S area sales manager Jrg Schaper said customers from the meat industry are using X-ray for the quality inspection of their products.

"We recently equipped 16 lines for a major customer with twin-line X-ray inspection, including a separate reject system for each line. The optional weighing function removes the need for check weighers."
