According to the customs statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 65,481 metric tons in June this year, rising by 7.5 percent month on month and down 8.1 percent compared to the same month of 2012.
In the first half of 2013, Japan's stainless flat steel exports amounted to 372,918 metric tons, falling by 8.2 percent year on year. In the first half, Japanese stainless flat steel exports to South Korea totaled 83,723 metric tons, while exports to Taiwan amounted to 66,782 metric tons, decreasing by 8.9 percent and up 28.4 percent respectively, both compared to the first six months of the previous year. In the period in question, the country's stainless flat steel exports to China and Thailand amounted to 63,586 mt and 48,262 mt, falling 33.4 percent and up 1.6 percent respectively on year-on-year basis.
