POSCO applied Smart Workplace corporate-wide on December 10th. SWP is not only a change in the system, but also aims to establish a `smart` POSCO by changing the way of working and thinking. In other words, it `quickly exhibits collective wisdom of the group by sharing goals through communication, creating creative ideas through fusion, and quick execution through cooperation, preparing the base to achieve Vision 2020 by advancing the way of working.
SWP mainly consists of the # TMS (Task Management System) which supports result oriented communication and efficient time management, # CMS (Collaboration Management System) which helps search for specialists and cooperation using cutting edge tools, # KSI (Knowledge Sharing & Insight) which unifies the source of knowledge sharing to the blog and produces insightful knowledge, and the # IMS (Idea Management System) to fuse, deduce, and utilize ideas.
Systems such as Solve-it, which allows employees carrying out similar tasks to participate and jointly solve problems, and Utopia which shares knowledge through UCC videos are also included. In addition, the EP screen has been personalized while e-mail and Enterprise Contents Management systems were improved to increase work experience.
POSCO, prior to fully launching SWP to the entire company, carried out SWP trial departmental operations in two stages allowing employees to try the system, and reflected their VOC to increase completeness.
1,385 leader levels and facilitators, SWP change leaders, carried out hands-on system training to allow working departments to adapt to SWP early. They also carried out various activities such as regional briefing sessions and Smart Workday to form a base of understanding on the necessity of introducing SWP and changing the way of working.
POSCO plans to expand SWP in stages to investing companies starting in 2013, and expects SWP to become the foundation stone for POSCO and investing companies to integrate working in a `smart way.`
