Forget Phones, OnePlus Just Launched Its Own Clothing Range

OnePlus is branching out from just building smartphones, and has today unveiled a new line of lifestyle products.

In a surprise move, OnePlus has launched ‘OnePlus Gear’, a line of lifestyle products that includes clothing and bags. The items will be available to buy around the world through the OnePlus store, although the rollout will skip over India – we’re not sure why, considering the brand’s popularity there.

First up is a OnePlus Travel Backpack, which had already been teased on social media. Then there’s a OnePlus Travel Messenger Back, which comes in a bunch of different colours. And finally, there are two different t-shirts with ‘Dash Charge’ and ‘Never Settle’ logos.

You’ll be able to purchase these items starting from November 3 at 11:00 (CET) or 06:00 (EDT).

“This past year, you have inspired us with amazing fan turn-outs, hilarious forum comments, and tons of unforgettable memories,” says Steven Gao, Head of Global E-Commerce at OnePlus. “Your relentless support has shaped us as a company, allowing us to change tech for the better. That’s why we’re excited to introduce OnePlus Gear, a new line of lifestyle products inspired by your awesomeness."

It’s likely OnePlus hopes the new product line will give the company more consistent turnover. Right now, the lion’s share of revenue will come in spikes, as the company releases new smartphones. But this lifestyle series should help generate a cash flow throughout the year, likely pleasing investors.

On the matter of smartphones, recent rumours suggest that OnePlus is gearing up to launch a new device called the OnePlus 3T. It’s still not clear what this device will look like, but online speculation points to the handset being a spin-off version of the OnePlus 3 that was launched earlier this year.
