North American manufacturer of consumer goods packaging Huhtamaki has acquired Winterfield’s business and assets, marking its third deal in the US within the past one year, following the acquisitions of Paris Packaging and Ample Industries.
Disposable paper tableware manufacturer Winterfield will add printed plate capability to Huhtamaki North America's pressed paperboard plate offering besides expanded manufacturing presence in the Midwest.
The addition of Winterfield's business and assets demonstrates Huhtamaki's proposal to grow its tableware, cups, containers, carriers and serviceware product portfolio for North American retail and foodservice packaging customers.
Winterfield president William Lester said joining Huhtamaki gives its tableware the backing of a global company with a wide range of product and financial stability as well.
"This acquisition is good news for both our customers and employees as it creates opportunities to introduce our products to new customers and expand relationships with our current customers," Lester added.
