Fifty50 Foods has designed new packaging for its certified low-glycemic products, which are produced for people living with diabetes.
The company produces a variety of certified low-glycemic foods ranging from peanut butters and fruit spreads to candies and cookies.
Fifty50 Foods also produces breakfast items such as syrup and oatmeal, as well as baking items such as pie crust and crystalline fructose.
The new packaging features a brand slogan ‘eat well, feel good’, which prompts the importance of low-glycemic diet.
According to the company, the brand's food items include carbs that rank lower on the glycemic index (GI). These products will be digested slowly and avoids dramatic blood sugar fluctuations.
Low-GI diet will also help to reduce the risk for Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and age-related eye illnesses.
The company noted that half of its profits will be funded to diabetes research, which totaled around $14m to date.
Fifty50 Foods sales and marketing vice president Julie Frost said: "Based on shopper and retailer insights, we felt it was the right time to showcase how our great-tasting products meet the personal wellbeing objectives not only for people with diabetes but also those who want to live a low-glycemic lifestyle.
"In 1991, when we first committed to donating half of our profits to help prevent, treat and cure diabetes, it was not as common as it is today to find companies that make significant financial contributions to charities and social causes.”
