RPC Barrier Containers has developed new ambient tubs for French foodservice company Soulié Restauration’s range of ready meals.
RPC Bebo Plastik thermoformed the 600ml oval tubs in multilayer polypropylene (PP), while the matching lids are injection molded in PP by RPC Bramlage.
According to RPC, the ready-to-heat French recipes will have a shelf life of up to 18 months when stored in the new barrier pack.
Created to resemble a traditional casserole pot, the custom-designed tub and lid have been colored red or yellow depending on the product.
The ready meals are retorted in the tub after filling, and it has been ensured that the lid remains closely fit after the retort process.
