Flexible packaging and filling systems provider Rapak of North America has extended its sustainable packaging offerings with the launch of a new bag for oxygen sensitive products including fruit puree and smoothies.
According to the company, the new bag, which is made of a clear high barrier film, can be used as an alternative to existing metalized film bags for food packaging.
The bag is claimed to be a PE-based film that contains a small amount of EVOH and is free of metal deposits and nylon resins.
Rapak said the new bag and fitments are recyclable with low density polyethylene films.
The company's new sustainable bags are currently available in a stock 2.5 gallon (9.5 L) size, but can be ordered in custom bag dimensions and film thickness.
Rapak of North America operates as a business unit of DS Smith, Plastics division.
