PG Industries will display a variety of DURANAR decorative specialty coatings at booth 1321 at METALCON International 2013 in Atlanta’s World Congress Center, Oct. 1-3.
PPG will highlight Duranar ULTRA-COOL and Duranar VARI-COOL coatings, both formulated with ULTRA-Cool infrared (IR)-reflective coating technology that deflects solar heat from buildings to reduce cooling loads and energy costs. Duranar VARI-Cool coatings feature proprietary pigments that change color depending on ambient lighting conditions and the angle from which they are viewed.
For architects and designers seeking a textured metal finish, PPG will debut Duranar textured powder coatings. These products achieve a distinctive salt-and-pepper appearance in a wide range of colors while providing hard, abrasion-resistant coatings that are made without solvents to emit virtually no volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Visitors to the PPG booth can speak with PPG representatives about Duranar coatings made with lead-free pigments. Available in a wide range of vibrant colors, including bright oranges and yellows, these coatings, which represent another significant environmental advance by PPG, have demonstrated exceptional durability and colorfastness in standard South Florida exposure testing.
PPG also will offer literature introducing Duranar pearl coats and patterned-effect coatings. Duranar pearl coats feature the special-effect pigment in the clear topcoat instead of the basecoat, creating a new and distinctly different look for pearlescent coatings. Duranar patterned-effect coatings offer the look of exotic metals on pre-painted metal substrates while eliminating the high cost of these materials.
