The release of InterMapper 5.6 features numerous enhancements to our industry leading network monitoring and mapping solution.
WEST LEBANON, NH, August 23, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dartware, a leading provider of network monitoring, mapping and alerting software, today announces the immediate availability of version 5.6 of InterMapper-- now including enhanced auto-discovery, better control of data and a friendlier interface. InterMapper's trusted solution helps optimize network uptime, reduce risk and alert the network administrator of impending issues before network impact.
Taken as a whole, the new capabilities make the InterMapper network monitoring tool smarter, more reliable and easier to use:
Smarter
-- Web server identification - InterMapper can now identify HTTP servers during auto-discovery and automatically creates probe groups to monitor them
-- ARP discovery - InterMapper now uses the ARP table to find additional devices during auto-discovery, broadening its view of the network
-- New fields available - in labels, notifiers and status windows
More Reliable
-- InterMapper Reports - now works on the iPad and other modern web-capable mobile devices, non-Flash UI
-- Data Management - additional tools to manage how data is exported to the database
Easier to Use
-- User Interface Enhancements - we've modernized many aspects of the user interface and are continuing to consolidate menu items and improve usability. We have reworked the Info Window to allow you to adjust every setting for a device from one place
With enhanced auto-discovery features, InterMapper maps are smarter about identifying network devices and making information about those devices more accessible. In addition to web server identification and ARP discovery, several Entity MIB fields are available when editing a device label, editing a notifier message and for display in the status window of an SNMP probe.
"With this release InterMapper Reports takes a major leap forward" says Rich Brown, CEO of Dartware. "In addition to iPad and mobile compatibility, datasets are now better organized, labeling is automatic, there is a cleaner visual design and overall performance, in terms of load times and responsiveness, is dramatically improved. The bottom line is that you now have full control of your data and a great way to share network information with all your colleagues."
The numerous user experience enhancements are designed to make InterMapper friendlier and more intuitive. "For this release, we put a lot of work into modernizing the look and feel of the user interface," says Gurdev Sethi, InterMapper Product Manager. "Not only is the initial map-building process guided with a Welcome screen wizard, but there are visual improvements to the Info, Server Settings, Map Settings and Preferences windows, as well as refreshed icons."
