Benz S63 Amg Coupe Has Been Spotted Testing on The Roads Around Germany'S Nurburgring

The Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe has been spotted testing on the roads around Germany’s Nurburgring.

Snapped by CarAdvice’s spy photographers wrapped in camouflage, the two-door derivative of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class can be seen wearing its full AMG kit for the first time, following the unveiling of the Concept S-Class Coupe in Frankfurt earlier this month.

Despite the black and white swirls, the S63 AMG Coupe’s aggressive front bumper with large air intakes, deep side skirts and blacked-out quad exhaust system can be clearly seen.

Hiding behind the prototype’s black multi-spoke alloy wheels are massive brakes comprising slotted and cross-drilled discs and six-piston calipers.

Set to be powered by the same 430kW/900Nm twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 petrol engine used in its four-door sibling, the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe should match or better that car’s 0-100km/h time of 4.4 seconds (4.0sec in all-wheel-drive long-wheelbase guise).

One thing that doesn’t come through in images is the sound of the car, and our shooters assure us it sounds great.

This is no doubt partly due to an AMG sports exhaust system that, while linked to the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission’s three selectable driving modes, allows varying amounts of engine noise to exit the rear pipes.

The all-new S63 AMG Coupe will follow the S63 AMG sedan to our shores, with the latter due to arrive exclusively in rear-wheel drive in December, attached to an anticipated price tag just north of $400,000.
