According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's longitudinally welded tube and profile exports totaled 40,242 mt, increasing 26 percent compared to the previous month and down 3.6 percent compared to February 2012.
In February, Turkey's longitudinally welded tube and profile exports to the EU increased to 21,216 mt, up 17.3 percent month on month. However, in February, the country's exports to the region saw a 19.3 percent decrease compared to the same month of the previous year, which had witnessed the highest volume since March 2007.
In the first two months of the year, Turkish total longitudindally welded tube and profile exports amounted to 72,175 mt, down 18.1 percent compared to the same period of 2012. In the first two months, Turkey's largest export destination for the product in question was Iraq with 12,960 mt, more than double compared to the same month of the previous year. However, Turkey's exports to Iraq fell for the second month in a row on month-on-month basis in February this year, after Turkey's longitudinally welded tube and profile exports to Iraq had reached all-time record monthly highs in the last two months of 2012.
Meanwhile, the UK, which was Turkey's second largest destination for longitudinally welded tube and profile exports in 2012, was again the second biggest export destination for these products in the January-February period of the year with 11,261 mt, down 33.3 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in February this year Turkey's spirally welded pipe exports totaled 8,338 mt, falling 31.85 percent compared to the previous month, marking the third month of decrease on month-on-month basis following the high levels of export recorded in the last two months of 2012. Meanwhile, the country's spirally welded pipe exports fell 4.7 percent in February compared to the same month of 2012.
Meanwhile, in February this year Turkey's total angle, shape and section exports amounted to 133,641 mt, rising 16.2 percent compared to the previous month, increasing after two consecutive months of month-on-month decrease, and were down 31.4 percent compared to February 2012.
