Toronto-listed miner Northland Resources has announced that it will start loading its first iron ore vessel on February 9 for further shipment to end customer and partner Tata Steel UK Limited.
Northland's first shipment of 40,000 mt of high grade iron ore concentrate will leave Port of Narvik, Stockholm, Sweden, bound for the Netherlands to be used in Tata Steel's pellet plant.
According to Northland, the first shipment to Tata will be followed by regular shipments to customers in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. Total shipments during the current year are expected to amount to 1.5 million mt, increasing to a rate of about four million mt per year, or 350 000 mt per month, by the third quarter of 2014.
