Tension Packaging & Automation is set to launch two new order-fulfillment systems at the ProMat trade show in Chicago, US.
At the event, which will take place from 3 to 6 April, the firm will introduce BoxSizer and Pack+Sort order-fulfillment systems that are developed for direct-to-consumer order-fulfillment distribution centers.
Produced by UK’s Linkx Packaging Systems, BoxSizer is a fully automated packaging system that can relieve rising dimensional (DIM) weight upcharges.
BoxSizer is a standalone system that uses standard cartons, allowing shippers to purchase freely from their own suppliers.
The system operates through three-step process, including the measurement of empty space left in each carton, cutting the corners, scoring and crimping the sides, as well as folding down flaps and gluing and taping the reduced-size box.
Based on the in-feed format, products being packaged and carton size, the system enables to process up to 15 cartons per minute.
Pack+Sort is a separate ergonomic, horizontal polybagging and sorting system, which will help to increase the capacity of the carton line.
The system enables to avoid the issues of polybags to be hanged in the carton conveyor and not weighing accurately. It is also provided with an optional weigh scale for weight verification.
Each sort line can be configured with three horizontal polybagging systems for sorting multiple carriers and varying service levels.
The firm also provides other automated options for distribution centers, comprising of conveyors, polybag and carton-sorting systems and print-and-apply manifesting lines.
Tension Packaging & Automation manufactures modular and scalable automated packaging weighing, manifesting and sorting systems for direct-to-consumer order fulfillment distribution centers, and mail-order and central-fill pharmacies.
