It's Now Easier Than Ever to Kill Bloatware in Windows 10

Imagine being able to clear all of the unnecessary junk off your computer with the touch of a button?

Microsoft is aiming to enable just that with a new tool known as Refresh Windows 10 or Start Fresh.

The feature has rolled out in the latest Windows 10 preview build and will likely debut in the Anniversary Edition coming this summer.

The aptly-named Start Fresh (via TCC) will make it easy for users to get rid of bloatware and just enjoy the core Windows 10 experience. It’ll likely speed up their computers as well as well as reduce the clutter.

Naturally, it would also protect the user’s key files and data and apps, although it’s not clear how the tool would distinguish between the two.

When it rolls out to the main Windows 10 release, the tool is unlikely to please Microsoft’s manufacturing partners, who love nothing more than to integrate plenty of their own services.

Many of these services are quite difficult to get rid of, regardless of how much the user tries.

With Microsoft offering users a chance to get rid of them as a means of “cleaning up” Windows 10, the likes of HP and Dell are unlikely to be too amused.
