Quebec's Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe has announced it will install three public charging stations for electric vehicles in its parking lot as of this summer—becoming one of the newest members of The Electric Circuit. "The involvement of our CéGEP is in line with our sustainable development positioning," said Roger Sylvestre, general director of the Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe. "It's in addition to our many initiatives to encourage responsible behavior within our community, especially through the implementation of an eco-pass to encourage the use of public transit and car sharing. The installation of these charging stations is yet another step in the right direction."
"By welcoming the Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe to its network, The Electric Circuit increases its service offering in the Montérégie region and along one of Québec's major roads, Highway 20," added Pierre-Luc Desgagné, senior director-strategic planning at Hydro-Quebec, speaking on behalf of The Electric Circuit's founding partners. "This new agreement is very significant because it reflects the confidence of a leading educational institution in the region."
