Cheese Products in UK Are Being Recalled by The Co-Operative, Asda, Morrisons

The Co-operative, Asda, and WM Morrison Supermarkets are recalling certain batches of mild cheddar and red Leicester cheese in the UK as the products may contain mall pieces of metal.

The products being recalled are ASDA Smart Price Mild White Cheddar, 385g; ASDA Smart Price Red Leicester, 385g; The Co-operative British Mild White Cheddar 250g; The Co-operative Value Red Leicester; Morrisons M Savers Mild White Cheddar, 350g; Morrisons M Savers Mild White Cheddar, 700g; Morrisons M Savers Grated Mild White Cheddar, 500g; and Morrisons M Savers 10 Mild White Cheddar Cheese Slices, 240g.

These products bear various 'use by' dates ranging from 7 January to 21 February 2013.

Notices are being displayed in the stores to alert the customers. Those who have purchased the affected product have been asked not to eat it. No other products from these supermarkets are known to be affected.
