In Western Australia Toll Intermodal, part of Toll Group, required low axle weights and an environmentally friendly and safe yard tractor and ordered the Terberg YT220 with a 6×4 axle configuration and a EURO 5 compliant engine.
According to Terberg importer Clark Equipment, this is not only the first Terberg 6×4 yard tractor to be commissioned in Australia but also the first yard tractor of its type in Australia to be equipped with a EURO 5 compliant engine.
Toll Intermodal’s decision to specify the 6×4 axle configuration was influenced by the need to allow the yard tractor unrestricted access throughout the terminal and connecting roads when handling laden trailers. The 6×4 configuration effectively delivers lower axle loads and ground bearing pressure compared to the more popular 4×2 twin axle models.
Toll Intermodal also specified the option of the EURO 5 compliant Cummins ISB 162kW six-cylinder diesel engine.
Terberg yard tractors are sold and supported in Australia by Clark Equipment.
The Terberg YT220 6×4 EURO 5 yard tractor will be on display at the Brisbane Truck Show – Stand 82 in Hall 4.
