Opel Corsa Appears to Have Been Put on Hold by General Motors' European Division

The next-generation Opel Corsa appears to have been put on hold by General Motors' European division, with new spy shots of an updated version of the current small hatchback revealing only a minor facelift.

With car makers across Europe facing fiscal difficulties, the Opel Corsa appears to be one car being asked to stretch its lifecycle for a few more years.

The images show a visually tweaked version of the fourth-generation Opel Corsa, which was first launched in Europe back in 2006 and scored a facelift in 2011. Opel introduced this version to Australia in September 2012 and has sold 65 examples of the city car across the country since then.

The latest facelift looks set to update the Corsa with front end styling similar to that of the recently released Opel Adam. The interior also appears to follow the trends seen in the Adam.

The rear end changes are slight and appear to be restricted to the tail-lights and tailgate.

The updated Opel Corsa is expected to make its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show in September.
