JISF Amountes to 7.59 Million Metric Tons, Decreasing by 3.16 Percent in Nov From Oct

According to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Association (JISF), steel product orders, including specialty steels, booked by domestic steel consuming sectors in Japan in November last year amounted to 7.59 million metric tons, decreasing by 3.16 percent compared to October and up 5.23 percent year on year.

In November, steel product orders in Japan booked by the domestic construction sector increased by 11.30 percent year on year, amounting to 1.15 million mt, while steel product orders booked by the Japanese automotive sector came to 1.14 million metric tons, increasing by 17.66 percent as compared to the same month in 2012, both including special steel. Japan's shipbuilding industry booked 321,148 metric tons of steel products in November, up 11.08 percent as compared to the same month of 2012.
