Videojet Technologies has expanded its UV fluorescent ink portfolio with the introduction of new pink fluorescent ink.
The company has developed new V539 pink fluorescent ink for use in the Videojet 1620 ultra high speed (UHS) and 1650 ultra high speed inkjet printers.
Videojet’s pink ink features a set of fluorescent dyes and visible dyes to offer machine readable and human readable codes on different colored substrates such as caps, pre-printed labels and decorated products.
The fluorescent ink will produce a red, light emitting fluorescent code when illuminated by a UV light source, helping to read and capture codes on high-speed production lines directly after printing.
To carry out quick visual quality checks, the ink will also produce a human-visible pink color.
The pink fluorescent ink provides a fast dry time within two to three seconds, enabling to offer better adhesion on substrates such as metal, glass and certain plastics.
Videojet’s new is suitable for coding on beverage bottle crowns, on the bottom of aluminium cans, parts marking, track and trace applications and others.
The UHS printers integrate the Videojet Precision Ink Drop system and patented Videojet CleanFlow technology that allows to use tri-line code applications for running at typical dual-line speeds.
Videojet supplies business unit manager Sherry Washburn said: “The pink fluorescent ink was formulated for dual-purpose applications that require both machine readable and human readable codes.
“The ink works through ultraviolet illumination that excites the fluorescent dye, causing it to radiate red light.”
Videojet provides printing, coding, and marking products, as well as application specific fluids and product life cycle services.
