UK-based manufacturer of baking cases and tulip muffin wraps Chevler has started a speciality bakery papers division to meet the growing demand.
With the new division, the company will offer a range of siliconised greaseproof, greaseproof, singleproof and vegetable parchment papers to the UK and Irish baking industry.
The papers, that are used by plants, craft and instore bakers to line baking trays, will be made available in both industry standard and bespoke sheet sizes.
The division will join the company's Meat Saver Paper range that has been catering to the UK and European meat industry for years.
Chevler managing director Stuart Whelan said: "With the sheeting equipment we have at our Hengoed factory and our experience in manufacturing Meat Saver Paper it is a natural move for us to make.For quite a while now we have bakery customers asking us for such products and although we always sold small quantity we felt the time is right to set up a separate operation.
"It is a further signal of our strategy to continue growing and developing our business for the long-term, investing in and developing our existing capabilities and seeking out new opportunities which build on our market leading position."
The company said that it will be selling the products through its distributor network and directly to large users.
Based in South Wales, Chevler is best known for its brimmed muffin wrap, which the company claims, played a huge role in helping to establish the sale of individual cakes in coffee shops.
