China's Manufacturing PMI Has a Slight Decrease to 50.1 Percent in June

China's purchasing managers' index (PMI) for its domestic manufacturing sector was at 50.1 percent in June this year, down 0.7 percentage points compared to May, according to the figures released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
In June, all the sub-indexes of China's manufacturing PMI indicated month-on-month decreases. In the given month, the production index for China's manufacturing sector decreased by 1.3 percentage points month on month to 52.0 percent, while the new order index for the sector declined by1.4 percentage points compared to the previous month to 50.4 percent. The raw material inventory index for China's manufacturing sector was at 47.4 percent in June, indicating a month-on-month decrease of 0.2 percentage point.

The employment index for China's manufacturing sector in June stood at 48.7 percent, down 0.1 percentage point compared to May and below 50 percent for the 13th consecutive month, while the supplier delivery time index for the sector in question was at 50.3 percent, down 0.5 percentage point compared to May and remaining above 50 percent for the fourth consecutive month.

In the given month, the input price index of raw material inventory in China's manufacturing sector was at 44.6 percent in June, indicating a month-on-month decrease of 0.5 percentage point, while the business activity expectation index for China's manufacturing sector decreased by 2.2 percentage points month on month to 54.1 percent, but still indicated an optimistic outlook for business activity in the coming three months.
