Flat Glass Prices Saw a Minor Drop 0.1 Percent

Flat glass prices saw a minor drop—just 0.1 percent—from October to November, according to the latest Producer Price Index Report from the U.S. Labor Department.

This follows a period of no changes from September to October, and a 0.2-percent increase from August to September.

While flat glass prices dropped, the cost of construction materials rose 0.1 percent from October November—following a 0.1-percent increase September to October and a 0.3-percent increase for August to September.

The import price for glass and glassware rose 0.2 percent from October to November, according to the November Import and Export Price Indexes. The export price for the same increased 0.1 percent from October to November.

Glass and glassware includes float glass, safety glass, lab glass and a range of other glass products, according to information from the International Price Program office in Washington, D.C.b
