The Futuristic Vehicles Will Be Legal to Drive and Fly, by 2017

Unveiled its flying machine at SXSW, the Slovakian manufacturer has promised that the futuristic vehicles will not only be available for purchase, but be legal to drive and fly, by 2017 - pending approval obviously.

Demoing the innovative hybrid car, which can hit speeds of 99mph on the road and 124mph in the air, AeroMobil CEO Juraj Vaculik suggested the vehicle will be available for the “wealthy supercar buyer’ (via Time).

Although no concrete pricing was announced, Vaculik added: “we need another revolution, we need a revolution in personal transportation. We need to move traffic from a 2D space to a 3D space.”

Whether or not the flying car is that revolution is still open for debate, but clips of the vehicle soaring through the skies is sure to rekindle the childhood hopes of many.

With wings that can fold out from behind the cockpit, the prototype flying car is crafted from carbon-coated steel and has a 400-mile range on a single tank.

There’s even and passenger seat for any friends foolhardy enough to come along for the ride.

While we could continue to detail the ins and outs of this futuristic beast, it’s better just to watch it hit the roads and runways in the video below.
