Dutch brewer Heineken has launched a new craft cider brand - Cidrerie Stassen, the design of which is based on Belgian craft cider producer Famille Stassen’s lineage.
Famille Stassen was acquired by the Dutch brewer in 2012.
Heineken has collaborated with design agency Bulletproof for brand identity, packaging design, and brand visual identity.
The agency drew inspiration from Belgian Art Nouveau, which was gainingmomentum at the time Léon Stassen established the brewery in 1895 in Belgium. The Bulletproof crafted brand features Cidrerie Stassen ribbon wrapped around the sculpted Stassen family apple tree.
The branding colours have been created to distinguish the premium products in the range such as Cuvee Rosé and Cuvee Brut variants.
Details including the date when the company was established, and names of the four generations of master brewers, have been incorporated within the branding in order to reflect the brand's lineage.
Heineken International cider marketing manager Kasia Gebala said: "With the rising popularity of cider globally, we saw an opportunity to launch a premium cider brand made by one of the finest cider producers in the world, appealing to a discerning connoisseur looking for a truly authentic, quality craft beverage with real heritage."
Design agency Bulletproof said: "We turned the conventional cider occasion on its head by creating a range of elegant and sophisticated bottles with real table appeal that reflect the premium quality of the products.
"Each bottle features an embossing detail on the shoulder showing the date the company was founded as well as a Stassen family crest on the neck label and brand monogram on the seal of the bottle."
The agency created a complete visual identity system to communicate the story of Stassen brand in order to attract consumers to the suite of brand.
