PeopleNet Improves Its Data Delivery Across Any Wireless Network

PeopleNet says it has been granted a patent on a system that improves its data delivery across any wireless network in North America.

The company says its system is the only tool for monitoring data delivery, regardless or network.

"Telematics has become mission critical for managing fleets effectively. This patent is the most recent example of our commitment to meet customers' high expectations for data delivery and network reliability," said Jim Lowell, vice-president of software. "Our Network Operations Center can now monitor data delivery performance to and from each of our hundreds of thousands installed units across multiple terrestrial and satellite providers and thousands of system elements to ensure even higher reliability."

The patent, says PeopleNet, features monitoring tools that will allow it to provide more reliable, consistent monitoring of data, shaving off hours of issue resolution. When the Network Operations Center detects a data delivery issue, it can determine the root cause and when necessary, notify the wireless network carrier of the problem, routing around the impacted area and confirming resolution.

"We're able to stay ahead of the curve," said Lowell. "By the time our customers call to report an issue, we've typically already sent reports to the wireless carriers in the impacted markets." The patent includes tabular and map-based visual reports of real-time views of all cellular markets across North America.
