Smoke could be seen all over the bluegrass region today and the Lawrenceburg Fire Department says it was because of a fire at a glass recycling plant.
Firefighters say it started around noon when a pile of glass behind Dlubak Glass Company caught fire, but they don't know yet what caused the spark.
After almost two hours of fighting the fire, crews say they had it under control, and after five hours they say they're just battling hot spots.
Moving the glass around may cause some minor flare-ups, but they say there isn't any immediate danger to anyone in the area.
A spokesman from the Lawrenceburg Fire Department said other departments from the area including Lexington, Frankfort, and Versailles helped put out the fire.
He went on to say there was little damage to the actual recycling plant.
