Unity Opto posted consolidated revenues of NT$695 million (US$23.4 million) for April, increasing by 6.85% on month and by 41.8% on year. The growth was due to increasing sales of LED TVs and shipments of LED lighting fixtures, according to the firm.
Unity Opto believes revenues to increase continuously in the second quarter and expects on-year and on-quarter increase to show double-digit growth.
The firm added that shipments of LED lighting products to Europe and the US markets have been increasing in the first quarter of 2013. Unity Opto noted that second-quarter orders of LED light bulbs have exceeded 1.5 million units. The firm is optimistic about the growth of indoor lighting output value in 2013 and expects the accumulated shipments of LED light bulbs in the first half of 2013 to reach 2.8 million units, exceeding total shipments in 2012.
